Hi! We are Tahlia and Dallas, and we are so honored that you are taking the time to read about our amazing little family! We have been married almost 14 years, and have three truly awesome kids. Our oldest child, our beautiful daughter, was adopted from birth, and we have two wild little boys, one from doing IVF and the last one was a miracle pregnancy. I have lost three babies in the past year and a half, and that has led us full circle, back to adoption like we started so many years ago!
(Written by Dallas) I was immediately captivated by her smile! It was during worship time at church when the dance team (including Tahlia) performed a choreographed piece with the band. Tahlia was absolutely beaming! From the moment I met her, I quickly realized that Tahlia allowed me to truly be my authentic self. She has always had a caring heart and it didn't take long for me to know I wanted her in my life forever. Tahlia's faith in God has been a core part of her life. I'm always encouraged by the way she connects with God on a deep level. One of my favorite things about Tahlia is how incredibly honest she is. She has a fearlessness that I want more of. She is bold & confident. Her determination and ability to overcome all obstacles is an inspiration to our whole family. She has a hugely outgoing personality & can talk to anyone. Her gift of hospitality has turned our house into a loving home with an atmosphere where others feel welcomed. She is good at crafts, a great multitasker, enjoys baking, plays games, and likes spending time with family & friends. Finally ... Tahlia is a Momma. It is part of who she is. It's what she was made for & she's incredible at it. I'm so thankful that our kids have her as the one who guides them, cares for them, and loves on them like crazy. I'm so honored to be Tahlia's husband.
(Written by Tahlia) The first time I ever saw Dallas, he was 20 feet up in the air climbing a tree! We were both 21 years old and working on our dreams in Los Angeles. I knew right then, that boy was going to be a blast, and I had to meet him! Here we are almost 14 years of marriage later, and we are still having so much fun! Dallas is the most trustworthy man I have ever met. Dedicated, honest, loyal, and a true glass half full kind of guy. He can find the good in every situation and our world always needs more of that! Dallas is the calm for our family, the solid foundation for the kids and I. He is generous with his time, his heart, and he genuinely loves his family and friends. Dallas has an artistic soul that thrives in creative environments. He loves movies, being outside in creation, going on hikes, and studying theology. He owns his own production company where he produces and directs feature films, television series, and other digital media content. He has been blessed to get to do what he loves with people he loves. God is the central point in Dallas's life and anchors him. Our journey to grow our family has been arduous at times, but Dallas's faith and hope has always guided us. He is an amazing father and is so excited to add another baby to our family.
We are not perfect parents, but we can promise that a child being raised in our home will have an abundance of love. We will continue striving every day to cultivate a home full of laughter and fun by creating opportunities in our family and community that allow our children to thrive. We believe in living out what your passion is with determination and grit, and promise to always encourage our children to do the same.
We promise to cherish your story. To share it openly and honestly and to always give honor and admiration to your and your decision. We promise to respect the openness and contact you desire, to always be honest, and continually confirm the depth of love that you hold as you walk through this life-changing decision.
We promise, if chosen, your child will be loved unconditionally by us, our children, our family, and our friends.
Dallas and Tahlia
We live in central Texas in the city where Tahlia grew up. It is a bustling town with new things to do everyday. We love the parks, lakes, libraries, and museums that our city has to offer. Our home is in a suburban neighborhood made up of primarily families. We have a playscape, and a climbing dome in the backyard that the kids love to play on. In the summer we love to grill outside while the kids play. We ride bikes, and go on nature adventures in the greenway near our house. We take full advantage of our home time where we all play games together, build legos, and do lots of puzzles and crafts!
We have a sweet pup named Biscuit, he is our first family pet! He is a miniature golden doodle and is almost 8 months old! He loves to play out back with the kids, and go on walks with us as the kids ride bikes and rollarblade in the neighborhood.
Our beautiful daughter, Kalliope, is full of energy and zest for life. She is 7 years old and is in 1st grade. She loves school, and is a friend to everyone she meets. She was adopted at birth and loves to share her adoption story with others. She is outgoing, competitive, determined, and full of grit. She never gives up and we love her fiercely.
Oliver is our first born son. He is creative, interesting, and very clever. He is 6 years old and just started kindergarten. He is obsessed with space, legos, and is a budding artist. Oliver is a tender hearted little boy who has an inventive mind that can and will change the world.
Jet, our baby boy, is wild and free and overflowing with Joy! He is 4 years old and is all boy. He loves to play outside and get dirty from head to toe. He gives the best snuggles and has a smile that can melt your heart. Jet can have fun anywhere, doing just about anything. He is a precious, loving little dude, and he brings laughter to our home daily.
Dallas is from North Carolina, and his parents still reside there. His younger sister lives in Tennessee and his older brother lives in Virginia with his wife and children. Even though we live in 4 different states, we stay in touch regularly throughout the week and make it a point to see everyone in person multiple times a year. The cousins, our three kids, and our niece and two nephews are all very close and love to play together. We use facetime so the kids can see each other and check in when they haven’t been together in person for awhile. We may live far away, but we stay very close and connected.
All of Tahlia’s family lives in the same city in Texas. We have great relationships and are together a lot. Tahlia’s parents are at our house weekly, just to stop in and say hi, or hang out and play with the kids so we can have a date night. We celebrate birthday dinners together, kid school performances, holidays big and small, and summer beach vacations on the Texas coast. Tahlia’s oldest sister owns the dance studio where all the kids take classes, so we see each other there multiple times a week. Her younger sister has two kids, our niece and nephew, and they are the same ages as our oldest, Kalliope, and our youngest, Jet. The kids love play dates, weekend adventures, and sleepovers with their cousins. We are loving the memories we are making while living so close to one another.
We dance, we sing, we play music, we bake, we enjoy nature, riding bikes, and camping. We travel, we explore, we love the beach and sunshine. We snuggle, we laugh, we play games, we build epic forts, and have family sleepovers in the living room! We celebrate birthdays big, we love a good excuse to play dress up, and always wear matching pajamas at Christmas.
Most importantly, we spend time together, always making memories!
