Luke & Heidi

– Oregon –

Introduction

Welcome to a little peek into the life of our family! Our first adoption has bee a humbling experience and we are thankful for the opportunity of honoring our daughter's birth mama's place in her story and in our family. We are pursuing adoption again with the conviction that all life is valuable, with the desire to support an expectant parent's choice to choose a home for her child, and with the assurance that it is love that makes a family, not skin color or genetics.

Our Home

Our home sits in a small, diverse neighborhood with many young families as well as older couples. The kids are able to safely bike, hold impromptu soccer games, or play basketball in the dead end private road in front of our house. The annual 4th of July neighborhood kid's parade and bbq is a highlight of the kid's summer. There are a couple of neighborhood ladies who are helping with our daughter's hair and who have lovingly brought her alongside.

Home is important to us. We love to travel and go on adventures but we also love to come home. We hope and pray our home is a refuge and comfort for every member of our family as well as a place that is known for hospitality to others.

Our Family

Spending time together as a family is a priority and something we cherish. We enjoy hiking together. Biking at the state parks near us. Quick weekend adventures. Riding bikes and scooters around the neighborhood. Paddle boarding. Day trips to the beach. Tea breaks. Disc golf. Cooking together. Reading books together by the fire. Little League games. Celebrating birthday "weeks." Playing music together (music is huge in our immediate and extended family and we plan on starting all of our little ones in violin). Food carts.

Our Traditions

Heidi's large extended family gets together once a year for a huge reunion at a lodge up in the mountains that is looked forward to by all. We all enjoy swimming, singing together, games, s'mores, and eating good food together. Our family takes a trip to Luke's parent's lake house a few times a year where the kids love to go boating, swimming, snorkeling and fishing.

Throughout the year we love getting the kids outside while enjoying the gorgeous mountains and beaches that are close by.
