Esam & Haneen
– Maryland –
Esam and I have been married since 2013. We have always known that we wanted children. When we found out we could not conceive naturally it felt like our dreams were shattered. We decided after a few days that we would try to grow our family through adoption. This journey has allowed us to meet new friends who are also on the path of adoption. Our adoption journey has had rejections and failed matches. With the help of our friends, family, faith and love, we have strengthened our hearts and our resolve. We know that our dreams will come true and that we will be parents one day. We are eagerly waiting with pure hearts, open arms, and a warm embrace.
I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but grew up in Virginia and Maryland. Growing up, I was blessed to have a family that loved and cared for me. I am the oldest of two brothers and one sister. One of the best memories that I had growing up was playing soccer and taking care of my siblings. As the oldest, I was the role model and used that to shape my life to be the person I am today. I am passionate about computers, which allowed me to obtain a job as a security consultant for a cybersecurity firm. I love the challenges and new opportunities that this job offers. On my free time, I love to run, spend time outdoors and doing yard work. I have always dreamt of being a father.
I was born and raised in Jordan and had an amazing childhood. Growing up, I was blessed with being surrounded by many friends and family who loved and cared for me. I am the only daughter with three brothers. I am strong and proud that I wear a scarf, because when I was ready, I CHOSE to wear it. This is what I want our daughter to understand that it's a decision that she would need to make it's not something to be forced on. I moved to the States in 2013 with my loving husband. It was hard, but once I began working, things began to change for the best. I started meeting new people and making friends. I have been told that I am a sincere and caring person. I love being around nature and gardening.
This is our first home together and we have already made so many memories, both sad and happy. This house is spacious; you can put on a good song and dance all night long. On a personal note, this is where we both drank our first cup of coffee together. We have opened our door to the people that we love so we can spend time together and have a good laugh. Most importantly, this is the house that will welcome our child.
Both sides of the family are amazing to be around. They all have a great sense of humor and being around them brings us happiness. We are eager to share this with our child. We want them to see that family is what brings the joy and love. As the saying goes and to live by, “Being a family means you are a part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life.” –Lisa Weed
