Ron & Brenda

– Utah –

Introduction

Hello friends! We are Ron and Brenda and we are very excited to get to know you. We are so amazed at the love you have for your baby and hope to be able to share our love with you too.

Our story is one of love, happiness, trials, and everything in between. We met on a blind date, set up by Brenda’s sister. After seeing each other at several get-togethers and going on a couple of group dates, we eventually had our first real date, which went really well. There was no turning back after that day. We fell in love and were happily married in June of 2002.

We want to add to our amazing family through the miracle of adoption and want you to be part of our family as we do this.

About Ron

Ron does so much for both our family and our community. He diligently serves others in our church, runs support groups for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and puts up with Junior High students on a daily basis. He is pretty much a superhero. He is an amazing example of unconditional love and serving others.

Fun Facts about Ron:

He loves computers, video games, and spending time with our family.

He’s a teacher, so he loves having summers off to be home with the kids.

He enjoys watching YouTube videos to learn how to “style” Beth’s hair.

About Brenda

Brenda brightens any room she walks in to. She’s cheerful and supportive as well as understanding and nonjudgmental. This is perhaps best illustrated by a major career plan change I made in college. I’d wanted to become a pharmacist or a dentist and was struggling my way through the second chemistry class on my way towards a degree in science. It didn’t hold my attention. One day, in the middle of class, I left to call her and tell her I wanted to pursue a career more along the lines of my interests – specifically teaching social studies. Without missing a beat, she told me to go for it.  I’ve always appreciated her willingness to support me in finding a career that better aligned with me.

Our Home

We live in a cozy, older home in a quiet suburban neighborhood north of Salt Lake City. We are within walking distance of three parks, the city library, our church, and all of the kids’ schools from elementary to high school. We have the best neighbors in the world and really do believe in the saying that it takes a village to raise a child.  We have made some of the best friends possible in the years that we have lived her and have great people that we can rely on at any time.

Our Pets

We have two dogs that we love, and that love our kids. We have a German Shepherd and a Chihuahua. They are the perfect odd couple, but make the best little team. They are both great family dogs and love playing with our kids.

Our Family

We love to play games together (especially video games), go kayaking, and do family movie nights where we all take turns picking the movies. We like to travel and usually involve our extended family in our travels. We visit Brenda’s sister in Michigan almost every year and the kids love to spend time with their cousins there. We have taken trips to Disneyland and Disney World at different times with both Ron and Brenda’s extended families. As a family, we like to take short little trips to places like Yellowstone and Dinosaur National Monument.  We are so lucky to have so many national parks close by and we enjoy exploring them together.

Our Traditions

We have a lot of traditions that are centered around family. We both come from large families and the kids have 25 cousins to play with. We love to have barbecues and picnics with aunts, uncles, and cousins – especially our giant Independence Day barbecue, complete with an inflatable waterslide. We get together with family for all holidays, and love the fun times. At Christmas we always make "gingerbread creations" with some of our friends. It started as gingerbread houses and then decided it was best when the kids just created whatever they want.

We love our traditions and look forward to adding another child to the fun.

Working together to Adopt

When Ron and I decided that we wanted to add another baby to our family, and knew that we would need and want to adopt, we were surprised at how much the kids wanted to be a part of it. Luke got a rock tumbler for Christmas in 2018 and started making necklaces out of his beautiful rocks. We started going to Farmers Markets and festivals as Luke sold necklaces so that he could help earn money for the adoption. We truly honor family above all and are so excited to welcome another member of our family. This baby will have the greatest siblings ever that are so excited for him/her to join us.
