Hi there! We are Stephanie & Travis.

We met in 2003 in a teacher prep program at CSUN. We became fast friends but didn’t start dating until after graduation. In 2009, Trav proposed! On 7-11-10 we tied the knot. We still celebrate every anniversary with a Slurpee. Once we were ready to start adding to our family, we ran into fertility problems. We stopped a cycle of IVF mid-round to focus our efforts on adoption. We couldn’t deny the call in our hearts to adopt.

In 2017 we finalized the adoption of our amazing son, Charlie. He is the greatest gift we have ever been blessed with. For the last 3 years we have poured our love into our little man. We are so excited to start this adventure again and welcome a new child into our hearts and home.

Our Letter to You

Dear Expectant Parents, Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to present our adoption book to you. We know that every adoption is different, and every expectant mom and dad are different. We would love to hear more about your life and your baby. Although an adoption would be a joyous occasion for us, we understand that you may have mixed emotions right now. We want to honor those feelings because they are a part of your story. And they are the beginning to your baby’s story. We hope this profile gives you a good sense of who we are and the kind of parents we strive to be. In this profile we hope to share a little about our family, community, and traditions with you. Family is the most important thing to us. We were blessed with a son through adoption in 2017. He is our whole world and we are so grateful to his wonderful birth family for giving us the chance to be parents. We are hoping and praying that we can continue to grow our family through adoption once again. We are excited about the prospect of meeting with you and hearing your story. Our Parenting Style

After teaching elementary school for 13 years, we thought we knew it all when it came to parenting and discipling children. When our spit-fire son arrived, he taught us more in 1 year than all of our years in education combined! We believe in leading by example. Children soak up everything - and we want them to soak up the right kinds of things starting with positivity, compassion, and respect. We both believe in modeling the right type of behavior starting as early as possible. We try not to yell. Instead, we talk about big feelings and help littles to navigate their own understandings of the world. We don't hit or spank. We want to build trust from the get-go. Another cornerstone in our parenting style is offering the opportunity to apologize, fix mistakes, and try again. We try to say sorry and mean it, when we mess up. We want our children to know that no one is perfect and we can all learn from our mistakes. At the end of the day, we want our children to know they are loved. And we prove this love day in and day out with hugs, kisses, words of praise, trust, and patience. Some days are harder than others, but we always try to do the best job we can.
