Amy & Ian
– Iowa –
Thank you for opening our profile! We are Ian, Amy and Kaleb. We would love nothing more than to get to know you and the chance to add to our family. We have a lot of love to give! We have a very close family and can not wait for the chance to make Kaleb a big brother! We love spending time with our family, traveling, camping, spending time with our pets, and cub scouts! We own our home in a smaller city in Iowa, and live in a great neighborhood two blocks from the elementary school. We are ready to welcome a child in to our home and hearts and give them so much love, and an amazing life.
As you can see from my interesting fact I grew up with an unconventional family! I have step siblings and parents. But we are all family! I grew up with a deep love for animals, and am now a veterinary technician for a companion animal pharmaceutical company. When not working I love to be at home with Ian and Kaleb and our menagerie of pets!
I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and moved to Kansas City after college to live with my cousin. There I met Amy and followed her back to Iowa where we were married and started our family. I am a publisher for a few aviation publications, and that gives me the opportunity to travel a few times a year to conventions and air shows. I enjoy being home with my family, traveling to see family, camping and scouting.
We have a nice home in a great neighborhood. All of our neighbors look out for each other and the children of the neighborhood. We actually live four blocks away from Grandma and Grandpa so we walk up to visit often, and two blocks from the elementary school so we walk up to play on the playground.
Our home is very comfortable, and lots of room for kids and toys! There are two bedrooms downstairs and a family room, and a bathroom. Upstairs is another bedroom, bathroom, living room and a sun room that has been converted in to a toy room.
Our nursery has been set up for quite a while. We had been chosen to adopt a little boy and when he was born his mommy decided to parent, and that is alright and understandable. We are a little scared to put ourselves back out there, but know that the right member to our family is out there, and perhaps their expectant mother is meant to be a part of our family as well.
We have four dogs, they are all miniature dachshunds. They have been around while Kaleb grew up and are great with kids. We have had foster kiddos stay with us and the dogs loved them as well. We have two cats and they spend most of their time downstairs away from the dogs.
Our family is very close and we try to visit them as much as possible. Ian's parents live in Chicago, along with his two brothers and their familys. His sister lives in Wisconsin. Amy parents live four blocks away and we spend a lot of time with them, along with Amy's grandmother that lives across town. Her dad lives in Florida and we try to visit at least once or twice a year. And Amy's step brother and his family live about twenty mins away and visit frequently
We have the same traditions as most, and spend holidays together. We go to church service on Christmas eve together as a family, and celebrate at grandma's houses.
