Chuck & Kaylee
– Alabama –
Thank you for making the courageous decision to consider adoption, and thank you for taking the time to read our story and consider us as your adoptive family. We are so excited to welcome a new little one into our family and are in search of the perfect match between us and an expectant mother/family. As the mother we know you have a heavy burden to find the best possible situation for your child and realize there are many factors that play into this decision. We want to answer any questions you may have and get the opportunity to make the best plan for moving forward in this journey together.
Chuck works as a commercial real estate attorney at a prominent law firm in the southeast. He is passionate about being an exceptional advocate and counselor for his clients and finding solutions to complex legal and business challenges. Chuck enjoys watching and playing most sports and is particularly fond of soccer. He was an assistant coach at a local high school in Wisconsin for several years which included a run to a state regional championship. He also loved coaching Leah’s team during her first year playing soccer. Chuck is also very interested in music and enjoys exploring new genres and artists. Though not particularly skilled, Chuck enjoys attempting to play the guitar and piano and often can’t resist belting out Disney classics or hits from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and ‘00s in the car despite Leah’s frequent protests!
Kaylee is a licensed cosmetologist in three states including Alabama. She loves helping people look good to feel good. She also spent a few years as a competitive welder. Her success in welding led her to the college where she found that cosmetology was another amazing creative outlet and a career more conducive to her true passion - being a mom. Leah is the light of her life and she can’t wait to add another bundle of joy to the household. She jumps at any chance to see live music with Chuck and loves to listen to him play the guitar. Her other hobbies include binge watching a good show, gardening, trying new recipes, and reading.
We recently purchased a 3 bedroom home in the Birmingham area and we immediately began preparing it for a new addition! There is an ample play room in the basement, and a playground structure in the backyard that Leah can't wait to share with a sibling. We are working on some updates and improvements (including new paint and carpet for the nursery!) We enjoy working to make this house into a home we love.
Our nursery is still a work in progress, we just removed the popcorn ceiling and laid down new carpet and it is getting a fresh coat of paint (03/30/20) Soon it will come together as a beautiful (gender neutral) nursery with a crib, rocking chair and changing station.
We are a fun loving family, who enjoy traveling, exploring local attractions and family game nights at home. We love cuddling up on the couch for a night of America's Funniest Videos or Lego Master's with a big bowl of popcorn and milkshakes. We take every opportunity to see our extended family who live all over the US which provides us many opportunities for exciting new experiences. We are looking forward to extended family coming to explore our new home town as we expect to stay put with a new little one for a while!
We want you to know that we will do our best to build a beautiful happy and healthy life for our adopted child and we believe this starts by having a clear picture of what you want the future to look like. While we hope for an easy and smooth relationship we know that this is an emotional and constantly changing journey that requires patience and communication. We hope to establish a trust that lends itself to understanding and cooperation to meet our mutual goal of everyone's happiness.
