Brook & Kevan

– Utah –

Introduction

Let me tell you a little bit about us. My name is Brook! My husband, Kevan and I have a 6 year-old daughter that I made and a 2 year-old son that I made in my heart. We live in thee best cul-de-sac filled with wild children that run from house to house. Most nights, the neighbors congregate to eat treats, roast marshmallows, and watch the kids be wild. It is blissful. The only thing missing are more of our very own babies to join in the chaos.

About Brook

Brook is incredibly driven and positive. Full of sunshine, Brook thinks just about anything is possible if you work hard enough. Happiness for Brook is when she is watching her children experience life. Her theory is, the more her kids can visit and explore the world, the more appreciation they will have for people that are not just like them.

Our Story

Our Home

We have a brand new four bedroom 3.5 bath on a 1/4 acre lot in the middle of the best cul-de-sac ever. We have a big playroom where children run wild. Our basement is unfinished waiting for 2 more beds, a bath and a family room. Outside, we have just finished putting in grass, a fence and an in-ground trampoline

Our Nursery

n-ground trampoline We have the bedroom next to ours waiting for our future little babe. Crib is up! Decor is waiting until we know the sex of the baby. We have a box of Minnie Mouse decor and a box of Mickey Mouse decor.

Our Open Adoption

Meet our wonderful adopted son, Miles. When he was born, we promised his birth mother, Ruby, that he would grow up knowing that he was adopted and that she, and the rest of his extended birth family, love him very much.

Miles has 7 half brothers and sisters! We love hosting picnics and other fun events so the entire family can visit and play together. We always have a blast together!

We’re so glad that our son will have an opportunity to get to know his birth mother.

A Letter From Our Son’s Birth Mother

Adoption was one of the hardest decision I have had to make in my life, but knowing I could have an open one with Brook and Kevan made that decision so much more easier, I see my beautiful boy and I know he is well taken care of and loved tremendously and It reassures me that I did the right thing. I thank God that my son will grow up in the arms of a family that loves him like he was their own and I know that I don’t have to worry about losing touch with him because we have formed and incredible unbreakable bond. I don’t know how this happen but I was put in the Haslam family’s path and its been a great experience so far, I have so much to look forward to as we move on in our adoptive family mesh together with my boy growing and getting to experience those milestones and cherished moments together.

Our Family

We have a 6-year-old biological daughter and a beautiful, little 2.5 year-old boy that we adopted. The children are best friends and are always running around the house playing with each other. Brook has two brothers and a sister and they live within 10 miles of each other. Her mom, aunt, and sister all live in the same town as them and her dad and brothers live just two towns up. They see each other several times a week, usually over lunch or Sunday dinner. Kevan has one brother and a mother that spoils our kids rotten! He also has a wonderful dad that the family goes to lunch with almost every Saturday.

Disneyland

Kevan is a total Disney nut. As a result, we are Disneyland season pass holders. We go six to eight times a year. ANNDDD…we are officially opening up a travel agency where we can sell Disneyland tickets!!! We are so excited!

Christmas Together

Our family LOVES Christmas and we know how important it is to make sure we spend it with family, including our sons’ birth family. Last year we hosted a big Christmas party so everyone could spend time together. Kevan is takes Christmas shopping seriously. He even goes as far as to start collecting gifts for our kids and Mile’s 7 birth siblings as early as January! Nothing brings us more joy than seeing everyone opening their presents and playing together. Christmas is about family. We welcome you to be a part of it with us! The more the merrier!!!
