About Casey

Casey is the love of my life-my best friend. She is beautiful on the inside and out. She has a gentle spirit and goes out of her way to make things special for everyone, especially on birthdays. She loves her family very much and our family get together would not be complete without her famous desserts, like her brownie sundaes. Casey is an amazing mom to our son Gus. For late night feedings, to organizing play dates, to making her own baby food, Casey does it all and it seems to come to naturally to her.

Building Our Family Through Adoption

We’ve been though this process once before when we adopted our son, Gus so we understand the complex decision you are making for you and your baby. Our hearts are full of love and our dream is to share that love in growing our family through a second adoption. Being 1 of 4 kids in her family, Casey’s life was filled with cherished memories, growing up with her brothers and sister and for Chad (who’s an only child) marrying into Casey’s family the value of sibling relationships was quickly Clear.

WE LOVE OUR LITTLE FAMILY BUT HAVE ALWAYS IMAGINED A LIFE WITH TWO CHILDREN.

We admire and honor your decision of adoption. It is the most precious gift imaginable to parents like us who are unable to have biological children. We celebrate open adoption and are grateful for the many ways it has impacted our lives. We are for thankful to you for the opportunity to share a glimpse of our lives with you through this profile. Adoption is an amazing gift and it takes a very special person to even consider giving that gift to another family.

Our Parenting Style

Our lives are pretty simple and quiet and always with our family as the focus. We love nothing more than hanging out with Gus-whether it’s jumping in his bounce house, playing play-doh, putting together puzzles, giving baths and going to the library.

A Note from Gus’ Birth Mother

Dearest Reader, My name is Sheena and I am Gus’s birth mother. Not all that long ago I was in the same situation that you are in, flipping through book after book, wondering how in the world you can make such a decision. It’s scary, these are the people that are going to raise the child that you have come to love so much as you have grown them inside you for the last nine months. How will you know you are making the right choice. I wondered that question the most, what if I pick the wrong couple? Chad and Casey reassure me several times a month that I did not make any mistakes when I chose them to be my babies family. I get to see Gus doing all the wonderful things that they had promised through their book. I get to see Gus spending time with family, winning goldfish at the carnival, and all sorts of fun memories he’s making just at home in the kitchen. And it’s not just pictures, it’s videos too. Videos of Gus on Christmas morning looking for elf on the shelf, Gus singing his ABC’s and even him saying my name. Chad and Casey have always been willing to make time for us to get together and while life just gets busy for me and we have only been able to do this on two occasions, when we do it is like getting together with family. They are so loving and fun, and were truly meant to be parents because they do an amazing job at it. I will never have to worry if I made the right choice.

Birthdays are a big deal in our house and we all usually gather for cake and ice cream and silly pictures!

Our Story

Our house is located right outside of town. We have 1 1/2 acres of yard with a tree farm next door where the neighborhood kids can find bugs, sled down snow piles and ride their 4 wheelers. There is plenty of room to roam, take walks, and set up toys (like large bounce houses) for Gus and his future brother or sister. In the Summer, the streets are full of kids on bikes and watching all of the children laugh and play is such a fun way to spend a summer evening. We also have a vacation home in the mountains. It’s a great place to get away and relax and make memories skiing and swimming.

We are blessed to have families that would do anything and everything for us. My dad lives across town from us and we see several times a week. Gus loves going to Grandpa’s house to play with his dog Curly, eat cookies for breakfast and blow bubbles inside. My mom passed away from breast cancer recently and we miss her very much. I have 2 brothers, 1 sister, 2 nieces and 1 nephew. My parents adopted my brother as an infant so adoption has been part of our family for a long time.

Chad’s parents live an hour away-close enough to see a couple times a month. He’s an only child so Gus is his parent’s only grandchild! We love living so close to family and it’s important for us to stay rooted where we grew up, surrounded by our loved ones who are our support system. Grandpa Simon loves when we come and visit so he can show Gus his tractors. Chad’s parents love Gus with all of their hearts and can’t wait for another child to love equally as much.

Our Dog Mr. Beans is the other member of our family. While he may look intimidating, he is very sweet and gentle dog who loves Gus-especially his toys!

We go all out on birthdays-Family dinner, balloons and most importantly-cake and ice cream. Ice cream cake for Casey and Chocolate for Chad and Gus.
