Julie & Evan

– California –

Introduction

We are Evan and Julie! We became great friends at the beginning of high school, but did not start dating until we left for college. Our relationship began as long distance since Evan went to college in Northern California and Julie went to college in Southern California. The day we started dating was the day that we told each other for the first time that we loved each other. We married three years later in 2010 and still love each other deeply to this day. We are best friends, trust each other completely, and tell each other everything. Our love is stronger than ever after all of these years because it is based on how we love and follow Jesus. He is the most important part of our lives!

Written by Evan:

My wife is a considerate and selfless woman. She pays attention to what other people like so that she is ready to get their next birthday or Christmas present. She sends gifts to our extended family for their birthdays too. She spends lots of time counseling and giving people hope and encouragement to whoever needs it. Her passion is for people to know and love God and to help them live their lives according to the Bible. She loves being with kids so much. She has wanted to be a full-time mom as long as I can remember and has fully embraced that role with our four boys. She is an amazing cook, always preparing the meals for our family and for our small group at church. Every meal is excellent (except for that one time she undercooked the noodles for a new couple at our church! Oops! :-D). Our family will have many sweet memories because of her. One of my favorite memories is running through the rain with her in Venice, Italy to catch a gondola. She couldn’t keep up because she was laughing so hard. She takes pictures of fun moments with the kids and sends them to me while I’m at work. Sometimes they’re cute, sometimes embarrassing, but it’s always a joy to see what she is up to with our boys. I am so thankful to call Julie my wife.

My husband is a generous man who is ready to share with those in need. He is a hard worker and is very giving. He meets up with men at our church who want to be mentored because he cares deeply for people and is eager to see them love and obey God more. Evan loves the Lord and he is a faithful Bible teacher, who teaches the Bible to elementary age kids at church and to our children at home. His Bible story time at night for our children is entertaining because he is hilarious! There is nothing boring about how he teaches the Bible! He dresses up in costumes, puts on skits or puppet shows, all to make learning the Bible fun for kids. He is an amazing daddy! Evan takes our family on wonderful vacations and makes time each week to have family nights where we play games or watch movies. He is eager to help with homework and is patient when the kids have a question. Evan also loves taking the kids to the park and helping them ride their bikes. As a husband, he takes me on a fun date night out where we get to go to dinner and have ice cream! We always have a blast! I am so thankful to have him as my husband and the father to my kids!

Our Boys

James is our oldest! He is 8 years old and describes himself as precise. This is a great description for our logical thinker, who loves math, science, and building Legos. Not only is he incredibly smart but he is also an adventurer. He likes to explore and is always asking questions about how things work. We can’t wait to see who he becomes when he grows up! Peter is our fantastic 6 year old! Ever since he was a baby we have called him Sweet Pete because he is very kind hearted, sensitive, and always ready to cuddle. He loves spending time with his brothers and enjoys playing games. He is also very artistic and enjoys crafts and painting. This sweet boy loves making everyone happy! Nathan, or Nay Nay as we like to call him, is 4 years old. He is always on the go. If you ask him to run he will probably outrun you, as he is quite athletic already. He is our mischief maker and is regularly getting into things to explore and discover. Nathan thrives off of making others laugh. He is so funny, and makes us laugh every day! Titus is 1 year old and is such a joy to our family. His Grammie calls him Smiley Titus because he is always smiling! Whether it is in the bath, at the pool, or at the water park, he loves being in the water! He is such a fun little boy! Titus loves being silly with his brothers and is ready to become a big brother too!

Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family. We know that this is a very difficult time for you right now as you consider what is best for your baby. We want what is best for your baby too. Your decision should not be about what we want, but about what will make you feel the most comfortable and at peace for the future of your child. We hope this letter and these pictures will give you a glimpse into who we are and what your child’s life would be like if you choose us as adoptive parents.

We are Evan and Julie and we live in sunny Southern California! We have been together for about twelve years. Even before we got married we talked about how much we loved children and wanted a big family. We were ready to welcome kids through both pregnancy and adoption. Adoption has always been a part of the plan for adding to our family. God has blessed us with four wonderful sons. What a blessing they are to our family! We have more love to give to another child. As part of our family your child would be surrounded with loving and protective brothers. As built-in best friends they would play games, use their imaginations, help cook in the kitchen, go to parks, and so much more. With so many playmates and so much to do, every single day would be exciting! We are looking forward to adding to our family through adoption.

Thank you for reading this letter and considering our family. We also want to thank you for choosing life for your child! We know that this is probably the hardest decision you have ever had to make and we want you to be confident in whatever you decide. You are making a selfless choice by pursuing what is best for your baby. We promise to always love and care for your baby, just as we do for all of our children. We promise to always follow through on our word to you and always speak kindly about you. We care about you, are praying for you, and we would love to hear from you!

With Love, Evan and Julie

Our Parenting Style

What a privilege it is to be parents. It is such a joy for us to raise children and we are committed to teaching them who God is and how to live a life that is pleasing to Him. In our home we have so much fun and enjoy playing games and going to the park and watching movies. We also spend a lot of time at church and with good friends! Parenting kids in this environment is a great way for them to grow up!

Our Days

Evan spends his weekdays going to work as a software engineer. He has a great job that he loves and provides for our family. Julie is blessed to stay home and care for the kids and home. When Evan gets home from work the boys will run to the door to hug and tackle their daddy! In the evenings we have date nights, family night, Bible Study at church, and competitive game nights. We love hosting people in our home and have friends over once a week! Some of our best family memories are made by going to the park, the beach, Disneyland, or Chuck E Cheese’s. One of our favorite traditions is getting slurpees from 7-11 after school every Friday. We spend a lot of time as a family creating lasting memories as we explore fun activities around beautiful Orange County!

Our Church

We love our church family! We are committed to attending and serving in the kids ministry every Sunday. Evan teaches the kids a Bible lesson while Julie takes care of the young kids. We also lead a Bible Study group every Tuesday night to help men and women in the church know and love God. We hope to show all of our children how we prioritize loving God and others. Our prayer is that they would grow up to know and love Him as well!

Our Vacations

This summer we went to Hawaii with extended family and friends and stayed at Disney’s Aulani. Then we took a road trip in an RV across the whole country! We had a blast taking pictures at all the state lines. Our family has also gone on a Disney cruise through the Caribbean, spent time exploring New York City, and made s’mores while camping in the mountains with friends!

Our Home

We bought our 4 bedroom home in Southern California 5 years ago. It is on a safe cul-de-sac close to a fire station. The kids love watching the fire trucks come and go and it is a great street to ride bikes on. Our backyard has room to run around and a sandbox with fun toys to explore with. We also are right across the street from a super fun park! This is a great place for kids to grow up and we are looking forward to bringing another little one home!
