Tim & Danielle

– Virginia –

Introduction

Hello! We are Tim and Danielle. We have been together going on 3 years and married almost 2 years. We are a family of 5 though the two oldest children are in college. The children are Ashleigh (23), Cameron (18), and Caleb (14). We are a fun loving, energetic family. We enjoy traveling and learning about new places. We also love being outside hiking our local trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains, walking the greenways, going to festivals throughout the year (Fall Fest, Go Outdoor Fest, Sunflower Fest, etc). We also love to spend time at Smith Mountain Lake during the summer. Family time is very important to us and we try to make the most of the time we get to have together. We are looking forward to and very excited to bring another child into our family to love.

About Tim

Tim is a hardworking, fun loving guy. He is always looking for the positive in any situation that arises. He is motivational to those around him and likes to see others succeed. He keeps me laughing with his silliness, dancing, and singing.
Outside of his workday Tim is very physically active. In the spring he enjoys playing in an adult softball league. He also enjoys playing golf in his free time. Tim also referees part-time for both softball and football for children in elementary school all the way up to the high school level.

Tim has been an amazing step-dad. He seamlessly entered into my children’s lives which in most situations would have been a hard thing to do considering they were teenagers. He jumped right in and became an assistant coach to the youngest son’s baseball team and began teaching the middle son how to drive. He has taught the boys many life lessons in the short time that he has been a part of our family. Not only has Tim been great with my children he is great with children in general. Our friends’ children love when he is around. He gets down and plays with them and has even let some of the little girls dress him up with stickers and beads. He really is just a big kid at heart.

About Danielle

My wife is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. When you get to meet her you will see she is the type of person that goes all in on whatever she is doing. When we first met, I saw that in the way she was going head-on into training for an obstacle course race. I see the same thing when it’s time to take care of our family. Her heart is as big as it gets and I’m lucky I get to be one of the benefactors of that every day. She goes out of her way to make the holidays and birthdays extra special for those she cares about. Danielle is always making sure food is on the table and chores are done even when she isn’t feeling well. Even though medical complications didn’t allow us to have a child of our own, her goal never changed. That is to have a child together to spoil to no end. I know when you get to meet her you will see what I am able to every day. A beautiful, loving and compassionate person that has more to give to a child and his or her family in the future.

Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

Dear Birth Parent,
Thank you for taking the time to find out a little about us and our family. We cannot imagine the decisions you are trying to make and all of the emotions that you must be going through. We know your decision is not taken lightly. We admire your courage and bravery for making the decision of adoption for your baby. We hope you can find some comfort in knowing we are interested in an open adoption. We believe your baby will benefit from getting to know you.
We are Tim and Danielle. We have been married almost two years. After several unsuccessful fertility treatments and suffering one miscarriage we decided our path was leading us to adoption as a way to extend our family. Tim helps co-parent Danielle’s 3 children- Caleb (14), Cameron (18), and Ashleigh (23). We all look forward to having another child in the family to love.
We are a fun, loving, adventurous family. We enjoy spending time together doing such things as going to the movies, on hikes, traveling to new places, going to festivals, and having family get-togethers at our house just to name a few. We are very close with Danielle’s sister and mom that live locally and they are both very involved in our children’s lives. Tim’s family all live out of state and we get to visit with them a couple times a year.
Along with our human family we also have 3 fur members. We have a Mini Schnauzer/Bichon Mix and two Golden Retrievers. They are all very friendly and great with children.
We know this is just a brief overview of our family but we hope we will get to meet you and you can get to know us more.

Hugs and blessings,

Tim and Danielle

Our Story

Our Story

We live in a family friendly Roanoke County neighborhood in a 5 bedroom, Colonial style home. Our yard is fairly flat and a great size for children to play in. We are also only a short drive to nearby parks and greenways.

Ashleigh is the social butterfly. She is 23 and a senior at VCU in Richmond. She lives in her own apartment with her Yorkie. As a child Ashleigh danced from the age of 3-18. Her other activities included Girl Scouts, theater, soccer, and writing for the school newspaper in high school.
Cameron is more laidback. He is 18 and a freshman at Penn State. He played soccer from the age of 5 until he graduated. He also played lacrosse for 5 years. Cameron enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking and playing video games.

Caleb is our “man child” at 5’ 11” and is 14. He’s a jokester and always smiling. In elementary school he enjoyed wrestling, theater, and karate. He’s been playing soccer since he was 5. He also plays basketball, baseball and enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking and playing video games.

Outside of his workday Tim is very physically active. In the spring he enjoys playing in an adult softball league. He also enjoys playing golf in his free time. Tim also referees part-time for both softball and football for children in elementary school all the way up to the high school level. Danielle enjoys being her children’s personal cheerleader on the sidelines at their sporting events. She also enjoys cooking, planning and hosting social events with friends and family (ie. Baby showers, birthday parties, holidays, etc.) Danielle has always loved all things Disney and enjoys working part-time as a travel agent selling Disney vacations. Together Tim and Danielle love to travel, hike, bike ride, tube the river in the summer, hang at the lake, do yard work, or have a relaxing night at home just watching tv.
