She grew up in a northern Utah town with a wonderful family and they spend a lot of time together (weddings, graduations, birthdays, holidays, etc.). She is an animal lover (especially dogs) and think that a home isn't complete without a pet. She likes to exercise and is proud that she has completed a marathon.

Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

We are honored that you are taking the time to get to know more about us.  We know how overwhelming this time must be for you as you make such a difficult and emotional decision, and we are in awe of your bravery and have the utmost admiration for you.  Please know that we are here to walk through this journey together.

For us, adoption is not our second choice.  It is our first choice, and we feel that we are meant to grow our family through adoption. Raising a child in a loving home has always been the most important thing to us, whether a child has our genes or not.

If we are chosen as adoptive parents, we promise to give your precious child everything we have – love, emotional and financial support, excellent education, encouragement to pursue their dreams, and a safe and stable home.  They will be respected, celebrated, and valued every day.

We would open our hearts not only to your baby but to you as well.  If you are open to being a part of the child’s life, we welcome you as part of our family and would love to have an open and long-term relationship with you.  However you choose to be involved, you will always be a significant part of their story as they grow up.

Our Parenting Style

We were raised in a Christian religion that focuses on family togetherness, always showing kindness and love to others no matter who they are, serving those around us, and striving to be good people.  We strongly believe in putting family first.  We plan to have regular family dinners together, go on family walks around the neighborhood, and are excited to be able to make memories and have experiences seen through the eyes of a child.  We are committed to showing our support in any activities the child would like to participate in and plan to help him or her be the best he or she can be in life.

Our Story

Our Home

We live close enough to the larger cities for a child to visit the zoo, museums and events while still living in a safe and comfortable area with a small-town feel.  We live in a newer four-bedroom 2.5 bath home that is comfortable and inviting with plenty of room for a growing family.  One of the bedrooms is completely empty and ready for a child to claim it.  We also have a bonus room ready to be made into a playroom and filled with toys.  We live on a 1/3 acre with a large fenced-in backyard with a small vegetable garden and fruit trees.  We enjoy sitting out there under our gazebo with our outdoor fireplace going in the evenings when it’s not too hot.

We live in a quiet, suburban area and our neighborhood is diverse and full of children!  Our neighborhood has its own community pool and it is a hot spot to gather in the summer.  We also have big block parties each year for Easter, 4th of July, and Halloween where there are a lot of activities for the kids.  We live in a safe area where kids are always riding their bikes and scooters around, setting up lemonade or sucker stands, and just having fun playing around.  We are located very close to walking trails and a number of parks.  The many schools in the area are excellent and are all very close by.  We are also not far from a large amusement park that is open during the summer months and is very popular for families.

Our Pets

Charles is our 2-year-old English Bulldog.  He is a ball of energy, unlike what many people expect of the breed.  He loves every person and dog he comes across.  He is goofy and loves to follow us around from room to room.  He loves to snuggle.  He loves to play around and wrestle with us, loves his tennis balls, and likes to play keep away with his ball and other items he gets ahold of.  We have had him since a puppy and he’s such a fun dog to have in our home!

Douglas is our French Bulldog puppy. He has a lot of spunk and loves to play tug of war and chase Charles around the house.  He loves toys and treats and is learning new tricks.  He needs to always be near us and Charles.   He has a large personality for his tiny body, and we adore him!

We both grew up having dogs and know how much fun it is to have a four-legged playmate as a child. We love being fur parents and believe that a family is not complete without a dog.

Our Family

We are fortunate to have loving and supportive families on both sides who all live so close by.  Both sides of the family can’t wait to have another child to love. Kurtis is the only boy in his family with four sisters, three older and one younger.  We get together with them every few months for birthday celebrations, barbecues, and holidays.  We have a large Halloween party with his family where there are costume and pumpkin carving contests for prizes.  We get really into the costume competition and try to outdo everyone each year.  Kurtis’s parents enjoy having grandchildren and love spending time with them.

Nicole is the oldest with three siblings: 1 brother and 2 sisters.  We get together with her family often as they all live within 20 minutes of us.  We have a lot of family dinners together and in the summer, her parents have pool parties and barbecues.  Nicole’s parents love going on family trips with everyone, and many memories have been made and will continue to be made.  Nicole’s parents adore being grandparents and like to plan fun activities with the grandkids, including one on one play dates.  They are constantly saying how they would love to have more grandchildren to spoil.
