Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

Thank you for taking the time to view our profile and learn more about our family. It is an honor to be considered for the precious gift to become your child’s adoptive parents. We understand this is not an easy decision for you and admire your strength and courage throughout this process. You have an incredible opportunity to choose a future for your child and we pray that you are able to gain comfort and peace regarding your decision. We will be eternally grateful to be chosen as an adoptive family for your little one.

Our Parenting Style

Our parenting style is one that we would call supportive and loving. Sarah is currently in Grad school for school counseling, so she has used many techniques to help with managing young emotions. For discipline, we use time outs and take away toys. This works well for our son, but the most important part of discipline, is what happens after. We believe strongly in communication. We feel that a child should understand why a punishment was given, and what better choices could be made for next time. Then we feel it is crucial to let them know how much they are loved. We are both very involved parents, and encourage our son to participate in activities that he enjoys. We believe it is important to encourage children and build their self esteem and confidence.

Our Story

Our Home

Our home is in a newer subdivision in a village. We live on the dead end of the division with farmland as our
backyard. It is located within a half a mile of the park, playground, library, and schools. The library has tons
of activities for the kids. Our house has a new playset, trampoline, and big patio in the back that looks out into
the farmland. There are many neighborhood kids in our subdivision, and all the neighbors are always looking
out for each other. The village has a rec center for kids to be involved in sports before school if they choose to.
The school is one of the top school systems in the state for educational success.

Our Nursery

Our nursery is set up and ready for the baby’s new arrival. The nursery is located upstairs, right across from our bedroom.

Our Pets

We have a German Shepard named Bella. We bought her as a puppy before our son was born. She just turned 8 and is the most loving, and gentle dog. She loves to hang around young kids and get extra people food treats. We also have a bunny named Cuddles that is 3 months old. He loves to snuggle and run around the house when we are home to let him out of his cage.

Our Family

We love to be outside and active any chance that we get. We enjoy going in the hot tub together, jumping on the
trampoline, riding bikes, and playing in the backyard with neighbors. When the weather is not good, we enjoy going
to sky zone, Imagination Station. We love to do arts and crafts and science experiments as a family. Sarah is a runner
and finishes every race with her son. Her son has also started to love running and has started doing his own kid races.
We love to go to the fall and summer festivals in, and around, our local town. Our local zoo is award winning and
considered one of the best in the country. We go often and are very much looking forward to bringing both of our
children there. We enjoy traveling and exploring new places. Whether it be a planned trip such as Disney World
(family favorite) or a spur-of-the moment mini trip to a neighboring city for camping, we take every opportunity we
can to have fun going on an adventure. We like to try different foods, meet new friends, and take lots of pictures.

Our family is very active and hands-on. Both sides of the
family are supportive and involved. We live within 10
miles of Sarah‘s parents, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
We live a little over an hour away from Phil‘s family, and
see them multiple times a year. Both sides of the family
support kids’ sports and school events. Our immediate
family consists of Sarah, Phil, our son Landon, and our
dog Bella. We host multiple family get togethers beyond
holidays. We love to play games, bake, and take walks in
our neighborhood.

Custom Section

We struggled to get pregnant at first, but finally did. Sarah had a
tough pregnancy and was considered high-risk up until delivery.
Delivery was also a risk to her and the baby. After giving birth
to our son, Sarah became sick and discovered that she had a rare
blood disease, making it very risky to carry and birth another
child. We believe that God has a bigger plan for us, and that plan
is adoption. Sarah is an elementary school teacher who is also
finishing up grad school to be a school counselor.
Phil is an electrician. Our love for children and
determination to grow our family is strong. We have
prepared our home and family for another child
and cannot wait for this amazing journey to begin.
