Hi!
We are Chris and Trish Gilbert. We have been married for 6 ½ years and it has been an adventure! Chris is from South Dakota, a family of 5. Trish is from Ohio, a family of 5. We went to school together at North Central University in Minneapolis, MN. Trish fell for Chris’ skater hair, smile, and steady faith in God. Chris fell for Trish’s sense of adventure. We have lived in North Carolina for the past 6 years and love it! Grateful to have both the mountains and ocean not too far away. We love hiking and camping in the Blue Ridge, soaking up the sun and waves at the beach, and exploring new places.
Jesus is who we believe in, who we trust and depend on. God is in control and we are along for the ride.
This is Chris. Chris is usually described as smart, quiet, funny, and easy going. He enjoys the outdoors, camping, hiking, kayaking, and finding new places to explore. He enjoys reading books about history, business, leadership, and faith. He likes to volunteer at church. He enjoys connecting
with other people over a meal or on a hike. He often volunteers in the sound booth at church and helps Trish lead a life group made up of other young families. Unlike his outgoing wife, he enjoys being behind the scenes making sure everything is going smoothly for those on stage. His favorite
season is the summer. When he and his wife moved to the south, they were excited about the short
winters and the closeness to both the beach and the mountains. One of Chris’ favorite adventures was visiting Israel.
Trish is a big kid at heart. She loves meeting new people. And loves new adventures. Waking up in the middle of the night to be on a mountain top or on the beach for a sunrise is one of her favorite things to do. She uses her love for kids and the Lord in her job as a children's pastor at our
church. Her favorite color is lime green because it's beautiful and bright. Favorite season is fall
because of the vibrant colors in the mountains, the smell of pumpkin spice candles and campfires, and snuggling up in a cozy warm blanket. She loves fried chicken, mac n cheese, and sweet tea, that's probably part of why her heart called her south. Country music is almost always playing, and Disney movies are watched regularly.
