Mara & Chris

– Georgia –

Introduction

Chris and I met in 2013 working on the same project at work. We got engaged one year from our first date and have been married for almost 6 years.

We are excited to grow our family though this beautiful journey of adoption. We want you to know that we commit to raising your child to know and trust Jesus, love others well, and live a life that is full of adventure. We cannot wait to make you part of our story. You are brave, selfless, and loving to have made an adoption plan for your baby. We are thankful you took the time to get to know us by viewing our profile book. We are praying for you as you make this decision.

About Mara

In Chris's words: Mara is the most amazing woman in the world, and I'm constantly amazed by her beauty, attitude, and drive. Mara’s love has no limits. She love people. She is empathetic and a great listener. The way she listens makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world.

She is a natural with children. We lead a Kindergarten small group at church and the kids flock to her. She usually has two kids at her side and one in her lap at any point in time. Her love for our daughter is incredible. She is patient with her, instilling a playful attitude and confidence.

About Chris

In Mara's Words: Chris is the most wonderful man in the world. To know him is to love him. He is a natural around children, and I can confidently say that because I've watched him be the best dad to our daughter, and ‘Uncle Chris’ to our three nephews. Chris makes our family his priority, starting with our marriage. He is intentional about pursuing me and carving out time from our busy schedules to be together. We truly believe this is a huge part of making us the best parents we can be. It is the sweetest thing to see his love for children, and I know our adopted child is going to be the light of his life.

Our Home

Our home is a red brick, two story house in a suburb of a metropolitan city in Georgia. In addition to the bedrooms and bathrooms, we have an open floor plan including a large living room, kitchen, dining room, and playroom. We have a beautiful private backyard right off our porch. We love spending time out here in the spring and fall. We live on a quiet street in an established neighborhood with lots of families and young children. We have lived in this neighborhood for over a year now, and plan on staying here for a long time. One of our favorite parts of living in this neighborhood is the convenient location to a fun, family-friendly city center with local restaurants, summer concerts, and a Saturday farmers market.

Our Traditions

4th of July

Since we met, our 4th of July morning has been the same each year. We run a 10k race in the morning to kick off the day before making our way to the pool for a family cook-out.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We spend the day between both of our parents' homes. Lunch is with Chris’s family and early dinner is with Mara’s family. Being close to our parents and extended family allows us to see everyone in one day. We always end the day watching college football, which is a hoot, as we went to rival colleges who play on Thanksgiving weekend.

Christmas

One of our favorite holidays is Christmas. On Thanksgiving weekend, we go to a local tree lot and pick out our Christmas tree. We turn on holiday music, have a Christmas movie on the TV,
