I love baking and cooking from scratch, more so now that I have a little helper in the kitchen, even if that means it’s a lot messier.

Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

Dear Birth Mom,

I am already the mother to a fabulous 5 year old girl.  Already having a child and the experience of being a mom, I am fully confident in my desire to grow my family. I know your decision to pursue adoption for your baby was not easy.  As a mom, you want whatever’s best for your child.  You’re willing to sacrifice anything to ensure their health, safety, and happiness.  This decision is the ultimate testament to that. I promise you, I too will do whatever I need to achieve this.

Our Parenting Style

My parenting style is probably best described as realistic!  I firmly believe in gentle parenting and being present during both the good times and the struggles. I am very interested in the emotional and brain development of children.  I’m constantly reading and trying to learn more. I always try to understand the root of behaviors and remember where my child is developmentally.  I never leave her to figure out her feelings on her own or go calm down without me.  Being a baby, toddler, kid, teen is hard!  There’s lots to figure out and I’m present for it all.

Our Story

Our Home

Our town has a great school district. We live in a single family home with plenty of room. Living room with a fireplace and a seating arrangement to allow conversations and relaxation. Dining room with always room for more at the table. Kitchen with a long island for lots of cooking and baking. 5 bedrooms, three full bathrooms, large, finished basement with a play room, TV area, and exercise equipment.  Our yard has an inground pool with an electric cover for extra safety, a full-sized playhouse, and covered outdoor kitchen and TV over a fireplace. Both inside and out are great for family and friends to gather and play, talk, and eat. We host most the holidays and get togethers.

Our Pets

We have two rescue dogs (Huey & Wilma) and Stripes our  one eyed cats.  Huey came first and he’s 5.5 years old and a complete goof.  Wilma came next.  Huey needed a friend and she needed a home.  They are both incredibly sweet- love to cuddle and play.  Stripes is not yet a year old.  She came into my hospital as a stray kitten.  Her right eye was badly damaged and needed to be removed.  After getting her healthy again and doing her surgery, I couldn’t part with her.  So she came to leave with us.  She’s both fiesty and loving.
