We met 17 years ago, where Kaitlyn annoyed Josh in math class because she had a major crush on him. Josh didn't have a clue and Kaitlyn didn't think she stood a chance.Josh will tell you he fell in love with Zoey before he fell in love with Kaitlyn but that's ok! We have been married for 9 years and have 3 beautiful girls. Adoption has always been in our plan as Josh is adopted and Kaitlyn can no longer carry after being struck by a car. We can't wait to extend our love and family!
Kaitlyn is a fun loving, compassionate, bubbly person. She dedicates her time to not only her children but the military community. She takes great pride in helping others in the community. Kaitlyn volunteers as a key spouse and a resident housing council member. She has taken the time to be certified in suicide response and sexual assault response, something she is passionate about given her past experience. Kaitlyn is strong and driven. Kaitlyn loves trying new foods any chance she gets, she loves decorating though Josh would say she has too much decor, and planning events. Kaitlyn also loves to get out and explore. As a mom she loves a good opportunity for the girls to "dress up" school spirit days and holidays are so fun!
Joshua is a caring, compassionate, and determined individual that is motivated to complete anything he puts his mind to. His whole world revolves around his three beautiful daughters and loving wife. Family continues to be the motivating factor behind his pursuit of higher education and success within his career endeavors. Finding a balance work and family can always be a challenge, but he makes sure to spend as much quality time with the family doing fun activities and finding new experiences. Outside of work and family Joshua loves filling his time woodworking in his shop and staying active.
We believe children learn and grow best through experiences. We allow our children to follow their dreams and teach them they can achieve or overcome anything they set their minds to. In our house making mistakes is ok and always an opportunity to learn. We are very protective and love our children fiercely. We have always made sure their best interests are number one priority. As parents we strive to give our children better that what we had, though growing up we had anything we could dream of.
We live on one of the most beautiful Air Force Bases, home to America’s Airfield and Air Force one. Being on base allows us to have plenty of playmates throughout our neighborhood, events galore and parks to play at. We have a super spacious 4 bedroom house complete with the biggest playroom full of more toys than any kid could possibly dream of. We not only have a pool in our backyard in the summer but our community also has a pool. Our family enjoys bonfires in our backyard and sitting on our patio under our gazebo listening to the rain. The girls adore having plenty of space to play with our dogs and set up their bounce house and water slides.
We have two Shiba Inus. Many people know them as the doge memes. Soxie is 1o years old and Rex we rescued when he was about 4 months old. The dogs are more like cats most of the day. But they adore joining us on walks and car rides. Most days you will find the girls contending whose turn it is to sleep with Soxie and Rex still sleeps in his kennel but gets plenty of cuddles and will eventually join them. Aria is by far the dogs’ favorite but they love all kids equally because who doesn’t love treats in mass quantities.
Our Family is quite large but we would like to think we have a very unique family. Not only do we have our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins we also have our military family. Both of our parents live in Wisconsin about 15 minutes away from each other. Kaitlyn has one younger brother Justin and he has his fiancé Mandi. Josh has 3 siblings, one brother,Jensen whose married to Sarah and then two sisters Jordyn and Jenelle but the girls call her Auntie jelly. The girls also have two great grandmas, Gigi and Nana. Mimi and Bapa(Kaitlyn’s parents) visit us quite often. They are very supportive of the girls even if it means leaving earlier than planned to make a last minute award ceremony. Gma and Papi (Josh’s parents) love to travel to see all of their kids because we have all moved to different states. With Josh and Kaitlyn being the oldest in the family the girls look forward to future cousins. Our military family extends all over the world. They are by far some of the most important people in our lives. They love our girls like their own and we all keep in touch and visit each other often.
We wish we could fit everyone into a single photo but the frame wouldn’t be big enough!
Zoey is our oldest. She is gentle soul with a huge heart. She approaches any obstacles thrown at her with determination and great strength. She didn’t even let brain surgery get her down. She enjoys dance is a rockstar in hip hop.
Aria is our cautious child but once she is comfortable she is fearless. She is a huge animal lover and would bring home all of the animals if you let her. She is funny and quirky.
Lulu is a lovable force of nature who doesn’t let anything get in her way. She is persistent and absolutely loves food like her mom.
Our family absolutely loves to get out and explore at least one day every weekend. We have taken full advantage of the opportunities the Air Force has given us to live in different places. Zoey LOVES the Thunderbirds, we all do quite a bit. One of the coolest experiences we have ever had as parents was watching Zoey live out her dream of being a Thunderbird for a day when we lived in Las Vegas. The girls love animals. The girls love animal, so when we go somewhere with a zoo we have never experienced we are sure to visit. We also love our local zoos we have two within driving distance and a few more in the surrounding states. Aquariums are also a big hit, the girls love to sit for hours watching dolphins and they always find new questions to ask to learn more about them. Last year we went to Virginia Beach fully expecting the girls to hate the water and next thing we knew they were fully submerged in the ocean in their clothes. So going to the beach became a surprising crowd favorite! We have so many things to experience around us that we never run out of options. But our absolute favorite days are spent lounging on the couch with a good family movie or playing board games.
