Our compassion and communication bind us together, placing family at the forefront of our priorities. We benefit from a robust support network of both family and close friends. Julio's description: One of my wife's most remarkable qualities is her incredible knack for always having a plan. She's the kind of person who extends a helping hand when you need it, always offers honesty, and tells you what you truly need to hear. Her friends and family hold her in the highest regard, and our son finds comfort and peace in her presence. One of her greatest passions is dedicating her time to volunteering with the Special Olympics and working with individuals with special needs. She's truly passionate about being a mother, so much so that she made the life-changing decision to leave her 18-year career as a police officer to be with our son.

Lauren's description: One of my husband's standout qualities is his easygoing nature and his eagerness to embark on new adventures. He takes immense pleasure in creating lasting memories with our family. Regardless of the circumstances, he remains a source of assistance and maintains a calm demeanor when situations take an unexpected turn. As a father, he excels in every way. Whether it's being there for Saturday swim lessons or actively participating in puzzle-solving sessions on the floor, his commitment is unwavering. Through the journey of parenthood, I've come to truly appreciate the remarkable man he is. He demonstrates strength without a trace of ego, and his ability to comfort and connect with our son during challenging moments is a testament to his understanding and compassion. In essence, he serves as a tranquil protector, ensuring the safety and comfort of those he holds dear.

Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

We are very humbled and excited about your
consideration of us to adopt your child.
We can never claim to understand what kind of
emotions you have in your decision. Just know
we respect and admire you. We will
strive to live up to the expectations you have for us as parents

and as a family.
Julio, Lauren and Valor

Our Parenting Style

We are hands-on parents. We encourage Valor to have fun and try new things.  We love to be in the moment making memories and friends along the way.  We are both big communicators and hope to pass on that trait.

I am the mom who loves to coach the little league team  and volunteer at the school.

There is rarely a moment when our son is not on his daddy’s shoulders.  Julio is stern and kind. He is very involved whether it is Valor, friends, nieces, or nephews he will be the first one in the pool and the last one up from playing games on the floor.

We have built a community of love and support around our family to make sure Valor is always in good hands.

Our Story

Our Home

Our home has an open, ranch-style floor plan. There are three bedrooms,
two bathrooms, and a fenced-in backyard. We have a lake and several
parks in our neighborhood. There is also a nature preserve within walking distance that has 15+ miles of hiking trails.
We live in a quiet neighborhood with friendly people who wave and say,
“Hi,” as you walk by. It will be a wonderful place for your child to grow
up and make friends.

Our Pets

Solei is the tan dog. She has some hound dog in her which makes her a good alert dog. She is extremely gentle and soft with Valor when they play.
Soda was named by our son. He is just like a can of  Dr. Pepper: sweet, bubbly, and a little bit caffeinated.

Solei and Soda do everything with each other and love to play.

Our dogs have been kid-tested and parent-approved.

Our Family

We are a multicultural family. Julio’s family is from Puerto
Rico. Spanish is their primary language. Lauren comes from an Italian and Irish background. Valor has his genetic roots in Mexico and Guatemala.  We operate as a family incorporating the best qualities from our respective backgrounds. We do our best to expose Valor to many traditional
foods and holidays to help him keep in touch with
his heritage and learn about ours.

Life is never dull at our house. Our neighborhood
and the areas surrounding us allow us opportunities to
hike, kayak, and swim. We take full advantage. We often take day trips often for a change of scenery. We love the outdoors.

We both come from LARGE families and value the little
moments. We make memories through activities and not
things as a principle. We spend as much time with our families as feasibly possible, even those who live far away. Both of our families adore Valor and fully accept him. We hope to show Valor that he is loved by all of us and that he can always count on his family through thick and thin.

Custom Section

Valor

He is kind, funny, and smart. All parents think their
child is the best and we are no different. He loves all things
construction and trains. Whether it is naming the trucks at the work site,
building his own train stations, or helping
Mom and Dad with actual tools. He is ready to participate in any project.

He is very quiet and opens up to people he trusts. If he cries,
we know something is truly bothering him because he is a tough kid. He does not complain or cry often. We were blessed
with this little boy and he is hoping to have a baby sister or
brother.
