We are a happy and loving family, with a lot more love to give and we hope to match with the right couple who is looking for the best home for their sweet baby!
We are relatively laid back in our parenting. we do believe in discipline but also have a lot of patience because kids are just trying to figure out how they exist in the world. We are big believers in natural consequences but we also utilize time-outs with our toddler when need be. We want our kids to always feel like they can tell us things or ask for our help without fear of being punished.
We live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house on a little over half an acre. Our home is not huge, but we love it and have slowly turned it into our own since we bought it 3 years ago. We have a wonderful, large backyard with a trampoline, a pool, and a fire pit. We recently built a gated deck and have added a water/sand table for our daughter. We live in a very nice and quiet neighborhood about half an hour outside of Nashville.
Our nursery is also currently our guest room with a spare bed in it, but it is gender neutral so that upon matching, we can add some specific touches for baby. We plan to have baby in a crib or bassinet in our room for the first 6 or so months anyway due to nighttime feedings and safe sleep recommendations.
We have 1 dog and she is about 5 years old. We adopted her shortly after we got married. She is not a big fan of adults that she doesn’t know, but she loves children!
We have one daughter who is 2 years old. We have had her since her birth and fostered her until we legally adopted her at 16 months old, but she has been ours since the day we met and we love her more than anything! She has been such a good big sister to the babies we have fostered!
Both Wyatt and Morgan are very close with their parents and siblings. Morgan also has a very large extended family with a lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins!
We are foster parents and we still do accept foster placements if the age is appropriate for our current household dynamic. We are unsure of how or if we plan to continue fostering but that does not affect our desire to adopt privately!
