Our family consists of ourselves, Leandro and Sarah. Our two adult children. Our son has a college degree in agricultural business and economics. Our daughter is currently in her second year of college. Our son is married with a toddler. They will have 5 uncles, 3 aunts and numerous cousins. They would have grandparents and great-grandparents and much more extended family too numerous to mention. Our social circle of friends stretches wide and far, with many close friends being life-long.
I grew up in West Texas with very loving parents. I had a full-brother, 2 half-sisters and 3 half-brothers. I up riding horses, dancing ballet which lead me to pageant competitions and a modeling career in my later teen years. I am very creative with interests in leather craft, hair bows and sewing. Church has been a large influence in my life then and now. As an adult my career as ranged from modeling, to youth social work to entrepreneurship. My adult career provides a profitable yet very flexible schedule to be able to very attentive any children that we are blessed with through adoption. My first marriage lead me to raising my own son and several step-children and step-grandchildren. I also raised my youngest brother from the age of 5-14 and many unofficial children in need of love and support. My current marriage has developed into a true love relationship with children of our own being the only missing piece. My social circle is vast with friends and family that want to be a part of the lives of any children we adopt. I have maintained my strong passion for horse competition in cattle sorting events.
I am Leandro, a.k.a. Lee. I'm the first born of 3 children to a loving home with a working mother, as a nurse, and a hard-working truck driving father. They worked hard to provide for us and always went above and beyond to make sure we had all the things in life they could afford. Raised in a suburban neighborhood in a country town, I was introduced to horses at a young age and very active in Boy Scouting my entire life. My interest in horses motivated me to do well in school and move on to become a veterinarian. As an adult, I have always worked around horses professionally and as a hobby, competing and enjoying equestrian events. Ranching, farming and maintenance have become a daily part of life supporting our interests. My grown daughter and son continue to enjoy horse events even into adulthood. In a second marriage, we have found a calling to have a family once again and feel that we can provide more children with a loving home in a country flair, offering experience in livestock and horses or in whatever passion the children find interesting. Our unified calling for more family moves us to reach out for adoption.
We are Leandro and Sarah. As a later-in-life marriage, with one adult child each, we feel the calling to raise children together. As we are no longer able to conceive children, adoption is our hope to share the love we have in our hearts for a family together. Emotionally, physically and financially stable, we are very ready to receive more children in our lives. We hope that you will consider us as deserving parents for your child
Having already raised children, we have cherished our accomplishments and learned from our mistakes. Consistency, leadership, communication and fairness, delivered with unwavering love, leads to a child, then to an adult, that can succeed in all parts of life, from family and relationships to career and community involvement.
Our homes are both rural with ample land for exploration and development, yet conveniently close to town. Modern in conveniences and updated in styles, regardless of the age of the home, we are busy with daily life. Both of us working from home keeps us busy with work and still attentive to the needs of the properties. Livestock, horses and farming keep us busy, together working our rural passions. With chores completed, we spend time together walking, hiking, riding and enjoying the outdoor life together and with our extended family and vast network of friends.
Our home in Texas was built in 2001 with generous 3 bedrooms. The New Mexico home, built in 1984 boasting a 4 bedroom ranch style home. Both providing adequate space for every child to have plenty of space.
We move frequently between the two properties as necessary for family and business.
Pippa, a 5 year old Standard Poodle, a true diva and princess of her world, shares her love with everyone and has an affinity for energetic children. Prissy, the 12 year old retired ranching Border Collie shows her love with her direct attention to any person next to her with her soft and sweet personality. Patch, the 12 year old Greyhound, doesnt know he was awarded retirement and still loves to run. Despite his momentary spurts of energy, he shows his lazy tendencies by basking in the sun for most of his days.
Ella and Lil’Bit, the miniature horses rule the pens over the much larger competition horses as their minions. All are very gentle, affectionate and well-trained to be ridden and handled by anyone.
The 6 miniature cows are all tame and kind. A hand feed stack motivates them to follow you anywhere and are willing to accept petting by any willing handler.
Our extended family and friends lovingly support our decision to expand our immediate family through adoption. Our current extended family includes our still-living grandparents that look forward to more great grandchildren. Our parents are ecstatic at the opportunity for more grandchildren. Our friends can’t wait to have more children involved in ranching, horse adventures and athletic events.
Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and our large church community are waiting in open arms. With several other family members whom also adopted children, they welcome more children in our lives.
