We are a loving family that values togetherness and has faced challenges on our journey, including struggles with infertility. Through this difficult time, our faith in God has strengthened our resolve and deepened our commitment to building a family. We believe every child is a blessing and are excited about the possibility of welcoming a little one into our hearts and home. With open hearts and unwavering faith, we are ready to embrace the beautiful adventure of adoption to expand our family.
My beautiful wife is Danielle. She is an elementary school teacher, and she worked so hard to become that. She loves her friends and family but what she really loves is children. I have watched her for years nurture young minds and give endless amounts of herself to her students. A lot of her students come from various backgrounds and situations, and they can always count on her. Her heart for children is endless. If we are ever at a gathering, you will find her surrounded by kids. She speaks their language and is truly gifted with them. I moved my wife to a ranch in rural New Mexico when she grew up in the city. She took to it like a duck to water. She is happiest surrounded by family, outside, enjoying nature. We take as many opportunities as we can to go ride horses or go spend time at the lake near by fishing. There is not one thing I have watched her be afraid to try. Even this is hard for her. She is meant to be a mom and has not yet had it work out for her, but she remains optimistic and fearless. She will love her future child fiercely. There is no better partner in life for me than her.
My husband’s name is Jacob, but he goes by Jake. He really is more of a Jake anyways. Jacob sounds so serious, and he is anything but. He is warm, funny, and a loving man. He is deeply rooted in the western lifestyle and leads our family with grace and determination. You can find him filling his days with the joys of raising livestock and tending to the land. One of my favorite things about him is his creativity. You can often find him in his workshop. He can literally build anything. Like I said earlier, he helped build our home! Outdoor adventures are a big part of our lifestyle. I cherish weekends spent with him fishing at the nearby lake or camping under the stars. We believe that our time is best spent together. He has made me a life that I don’t need a vacation from. His commitment to our family is unwavering. He has been my rock and support system through every struggle we have encountered starting a family. He is my calm to my chaos and anxiety that this journey has left me with. We are excited about the possibility of welcoming a child into our life. I cannot wait to watch him share his passions and guide them with the unwavering love he has given me. I know he will be the most incredible father and just want him to have the opportunity that has been so hard for us.
Dear Courageous Birth Mother,
We hope this letter finds you in a moment of peace and clarity. We want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude for considering adoption and for the incredible love and strength it reflects in your decision-making process. The journey you’ve embarked on is filled with profound emotions, and we deeply admire your courage.
As we write to you, we want to share a bit about our story. We have faced struggles with years of infertility, including navigating through multiple rounds of IVF, each one filled with hope and disappointment. This journey has been challenging, but it has also deepened our understanding of what it means to be a family and the love that a child brings into our lives.
Adoption has been a strong thread throughout both our extended families, with many children welcomed and loved unconditionally. We believe that every child deserves a loving home, and we are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for the child you choose to place for adoption. To us, the opportunity to welcome a child into our lives would truly be a blessing, one that we would cherish forever.
We envision a future where your child grows up surrounded by love, laughter, and the support of both our families. We promise to honor your child and to create a life filled with opportunities and joy. Thank you for your time, thoughtfulness, and commitment to your child. Your decision is a testament to your love, and we would be honored to be part of this journey with you.
It is a gift we simply cannot have without you.
With warmest regards and heartfelt wishes,
Jake and Danielle
After researching the different types of parenting styles, we believe that we fall into the category of the “Authoritative” parenting style. Now, that might sound a little “aggressive”, but here is a quick definition of this style:
“Authoritative: Firm but supportive, with clear rules and open communication.” May 10, 2023•By Candace Nelson, “The 4 types of parenting styles: What style is right for you? – Mayo Clinic Press”
We strongly agree with clear rules, clear expectations, natural consequences, and open communication. We also strongly believe in “everyone makes mistakes”.
Our two–story house is located on a 5,000–acre cattle ranch, that is located in New Mexico. Jake helped his brother build the home, and we were blessed to move in when they relocated. The home boasts three large bedrooms, a spacious kitchen, a dining area, living room, storage closets, a fireplace, and three bathrooms. The second floor of the home is a large room, which we utilize as a home theater. The home is filled with natural light from the large windows throughout the house. The home is decorated in large game taxidermy mounts and sturdy furniture. There is a 12,000–foot shop that has a half bathroom, woodworking areas, welding areas, farm equipment, and many tools on the property. There is also an 80‘ x 80‘ enclosure for their seven goats. Three horses and cattle roam the land.
We do not have a nursery completely set up yet, but we have two spacious spare rooms that we are currently using when family visit. One room is painted purple, and the other is painted blue. We have a full nursery stored in the shop for when that special time comes, and we get to set it all up for our special arrival. I, Danielle, just resigned from teaching 12/19/2024 to focus on our adoption journey. Our nursery will be packed with tons of lovely books that I have been collecting over the years of teaching young minds.
Our pets, where do we even begin?
We have two adorable American Corgi’s that are a little over two years old. They are named Tater and Monty. They love to play with our niece and nephews when they visit, along with all our friends’ children. In addition, we have my husband’s extremely old dog named Bear. My husband owned this dog long before we got together in 2016.
We also have three outdoor barn cats that help keep the pests at bay out here in rural New Mexico. They love to be loved when we are outside hanging out. Their names are Belle, Tom, and Mittens. Mittens was bottle raised, so she is extremely friendly and playful.
We currently have 7 goats, but that number always changes. They are all hilarious and friendly. Two of them I bottle raised.
In addition to those animals, we have three beautiful horses. Their names are Shine, Freddy, and Betty. We use them for cattle work, and I also use them for pleasure riding in my free time. They roam the horse pasture but frequently come into the pen for treats and some snuggles.
During specific times on the ranch, you might see a bottle calf or two in a pen. That season is starting again here in February.
We were married on June 5, 2017. Our family consists of the two of us in our house, and all the animals scattered around the ranch. We have a niece and a nephew that we visit yearly located in Wyoming. We have four nephews that we visit yearly located in Nebraska. They have been waiting years for another cousin to join the close-knit cousin group.
