Hello! So nice to meet you! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We are excited to start our journey of becoming parents again through adoption. We hope this book gives you an idea of who we are as a couple who has already adopted, being an adoptee (Gina was adopted) and as parents. Thanks!

Emily is kind, smart, funny, and the most hard-working person I know. She is thoughtful and will do anything for someone she cares about. She is very determined and loves to learn how to do something new, whether it be learning how to build a patio all by herself, starting a new vegetable garden, or playing tennis. She has a passion for animals (especially dogs and horses) and the outdoors. She is the best mom to Lane and loves to explore with her. Emily was raised in Louisville, KY with her younger brother, Cas. She attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, and obtained a degree in accounting. She is currently a partner at an accounting firm.

Gina is a funny, intelligent and caring person. She is the type of person that you can leave in the middle of a crowded room for one minute and you come back to find Gina with a new best friend. Gina has strong family values and remains very close with her parents and siblings. Gina was adopted and I think this is one of the reasons she has always wanted to adopt children. Gina is a great mom to Lane and I can't wait to see her become a mom again. Gina is from Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Marketing. She was the basketball manager there for four years. She currently works for an educational publishing company as an account manager.

We live in a three story, five bedroom house in Louisville, Kentucky. We moved into our home and chose it because it is the perfect home to raise a family. We have almost three acres and a fenced in backyard with a swing set. We have a large garden where we grow fruits and vegetables. We have a basement with a full gym and theatre where we watch movies and hang out as a family during the winter months. Our neighborhood is very family oriented and close knit. Right behind our home is a country club we are members of. We can walk to the pool, tennis courts and golf course where we spend almost every day during the summer. Our neighbors are extremely excited we are going to adopt another child!
Our nursery is ready for a new baby! We are all set with a crib, changing table, dresser filled with clothes and a closet filled with diapers. The theme is woodland animals with fun paintings of an owl, fox and other woodland animals hanging on the walls.

We have an adorable 9 year old yellow labrador retriever named Bode. He adores kids as much as they adore him.
We recently added a new dog to our family, Scout. She is still a puppy and is very good with kids and loves to cuddle with the other animals and humans. She just turned 2!
We also have an 9 year old cat named Dexter who we rescued when he was a year old. He is very friendly and loves kids.

Both of us come from very loving and supportive families. Gina was in raised in Cincinnati by her parents, Tony and Sally, who adopted her at birth. She grew up with her younger sister, Ali, with whom she remains very close. She met her birth parents when she was 17, and found out that she has a bioligical sister and brother. Gina’s adoptive parents and family as well as her birth family and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews all continue to celebrate birthdays, weddings, and holidays together.
Emily was raised in Louisville, Kentucky by her parents, Connie and Prewitt, along with her younger brother, Cas. Her dad remarried recently, but the family is still very close and she sees them all regularly and goes on vacation with both her mom and her dad and his wife, Diane.
