I am from a big family with 6 siblings and have always dreamed of having a big family of my own. With getting married later in life, it simply wasn’t in the cards. We have loved getting to be foster parents though and are anxious to be parents to our own children. I look forward to passing on traditions from my Mom and who is from Louisiana like beignets for breakfast on birthdays and black eyed peas on New Year’s Day!

Hi, my name is Jarrod Williams. I am very excited to be a father! My wife Holli and I have been foster parents for around three years and love children. We have many nieces and nephews and decided we want children of our own to share our love. I am an electrician by day and dad by night. I love working around the house and ready to share my knowledge with our future little ones. We live in a wonderful neighborhood in Overland Park, Kansas with rooms to spare for all of our children we plan to have. I am so excited to be on this adoption journey and hope we are lucky enough to share our lives with your child.

Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

Hello! As a couple we consider ourselves to be loving, caring, laid-back, and fun. We love being around family and friends as much as we can and always have something on the calendar like spending weekends at our family lakehouse in the summer and regular game nights with our siblings that go a little too late into the night and get a little too competitive. We also share a love for cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, especially in recent years, and often use the games as an excuse to host friends and family for Sunday dinners.

We have 20 nieces and nephews between the two of us and take every opportunity to be involved in their lives, as well as our friends’ children. We love being the fun aunt and silly uncle and getting to be a part of their lives on a daily basis.

When we started dating we talked about adoption as a part of our family’s future as we both dreamt of having a big family since we both loved growing up with our siblings. Realizing it wasn’t in the cards for us to grow our big family biologically, our heart for children led us to becoming foster parents in hopes of being a forever family for children who were unable to be reunified with their biological family. For the past two years, we have been so lucky to serve as foster parents for two little boys and over time have developed a strong relationship with their biological mother. After seeing how much we love and care for her boys, she asked us to adopt her boys, which we were more than willing to do. However, despite their mother’s wishes, another biological family member recently came forward and has expressed an interest in parenting. We are thrilled for the boys and the possibility of reintegration with a biological family member, but we know our hearts will ache and the emptiness and quiet from the absence of little ones will be deafening when they ultimately move out. Until then, we will cherish each and every moment we have with them and continue to pray and hope for another opportunity to be a child’s forever family.

We have the utmost respect for you as you make plans for you and your child. Thank you for learning about us and the life we’d love to share with your little one as his or her adoptive parents. We promise to create a safe and beautiful world for your child to grow up in. We would raise your child in a supportive, caring home where education is a priority, along with a love for family, community, and helping others around them. We will give this child every opportunity we can to grow, learn, and become who they are meant to be.

We will be open about you and how we all came together through adoption. If you’d like updates, photos, or occasional visits, we’d love to continue to have a relationship with you beyond adoption. You will always hold a special place in our hearts and we want your child to know how much you mean to us all.

With love, Jarrod & Holli

Our Parenting Style

Right now we are fostering two brothers, who are 7 and 3 years old. It’s been a joy to be a part of their lives, even if it’s just for a little while. We love these boys and the whole experience has only strengthened our desire to adopt and made clear what or top priorities and values are as parents: a loving home that encourages each family members to be the best version of themselves; a love of learning that is instilled through education, extracurriculars and encouraging curiosity; and a safe and supportive community providing them with an immeasurable amount of resources and reliable people to lean on throughout their lives.

Some of our favorite things to do together have been family walks to the park down the street, playing multiple games of PIG in the driveway after school, and having movie nights in the playroom.

We come from large families, and we love big holiday celebrations on both sides! Holli is one of six siblings, two who live nearby and the other three are in Colorado and Wyoming. Jarrod has three older sisters who all live close by. Their families get along great and love getting both sides together for big events and celebrations. We even do themed birthday parties, matching Christmas pajamas, and big family vacations too! Everyone has been supportive of and excited about our plans to adopt and have welcomed with open arms our two foster sons as if they were our own.

Our Story

Our Home

We live in a suburb right outside of the Kansas City metropolitan area and are no more than 5-10 minutes from any of our family members’ homes. Our home is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so it’s pretty quiet and perfect for learning to ride a bike and playing outside without the worries of traffic. Our neighborhood is near some of the best rated schools in the country as well, and there’s a playground and park just down the street from us. We have two stories with four bedrooms, a playroom, and a big fenced-in backyard. The nursery is set up in colors for a boy or a girl and we plan to decorate it more specifically after we adopt and know more about the child who will join our family.

Our Pets

We have two dogs who are both sweet, cuddly, and playful. Tilly is an Australian Cattle Dog mix and Ru is a Mini Australian-Doodle. They love going for walks and are great with kids.
