Mike truly is one in a million. He can have you laughing at his dry humor one moment and touched to tears by a heartfelt story the next. A diehard sports fan, he’s also our kids’ biggest cheerleader and never misses a chance to encourage them. He has a gift for connecting with anyone he meets, and his faith in God is at the heart of who he is. Mike loves spending time outdoors, and together we enjoy traveling and exploring new places. I always say it takes a special man to embrace the role of stepdad—and that is exactly who he is. Watching Mike with our friends’ babies and toddlers confirms every dream I’ve ever had about him as a dad—he is spontaneous, never stuck in a plan just for the sake of it, always seeking a belly laugh, and quick to notice and meet the desires of little ones. Nearly every day, we share hopes and dreams about our future child together. Mike looks forward to teaching them how to surf and snowboard, just as his dad taught him, and to guiding our child as they learn confidence and independence with each passing year. He wants to help them discover their unique hobbies, nurture their God-given gifts, and be their biggest supporter in everything they pursue. Mike’s heart for children and his faith-filled approach to parenting are the foundation of the nurturing, affectionate, and joy-filled home we hope to share with a child

Corry is a fun, kind-hearted spirit. She is a CVICU nurse at our local hospital, where she has the privilege of caring for people during some of their most vulnerable moments. She loves what she does because it allows her to use both her skills and her heart every day. Outside of work, Corry is active in her church’s women’s group and loves staying adventurous—whether that’s working out, traveling, snowboarding, or catching waves whenever she can. A few unique things about Corry: she once competed professionally as a bodybuilder, and her many tattoos each carry a special part of her life’s journey. While she tends to be naturally reserved, she has a warm, approachable energy and never hesitates to make others feel welcome. Family is at the heart of everything for Corry. Cheering her kids on at their sports events is one of her greatest joys. At home, she enjoys quiet moments with her dogs and cat. Corry looks ahead with hope and excitement for what’s to come, especially the possibility of growing her family through adoption.

Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

First, we want to say thank you. Thank you for considering us as you walk through this journey, and thank you for the courage it takes to be where you are today. We cannot begin to imagine the strength and love behind the decisions you face, and we hold you closely in our prayers as you discern the path ahead.

We are Mike and Corry—hopeful, prayerful, and waiting with open hearts for the child God has planned for our family. While we have walked through our own challenges in growing our family, those experiences have only deepened our desire to love, cherish, and laugh with a little one of our own. Corry has two amazing teenagers from her first marriage, and together we are so excited to welcome another child into our home. Our kids are incredible—smart, funny, and kind—and they can hardly wait to be a big brother and sister to another sibling (their dad and stepmom have a 2-year-old presently, so they are already accustomed to having a baby in the home).

Mike is self-employed, which gives him a flexible schedule and the gift of being hands-on and present for our family. He has a natural gift for humor and keeps us laughing daily. He loves football, fishing, wake surfing behind our boat, snowboarding, and spending time outdoors on the lake where we live or in the nearby mountains. Corry works as a cardiac ICU nurse at our local hospital. When she’s not working, she loves doing mom stuff (haha, seriously), joining Mike on adventures, listening to music (always on!), reading, working out, or playing with our goofy, loving dogs and cat.

We want you to know from the bottom of our hearts that if you choose us, we promise to love your child unconditionally. We will provide for all their needs as they grow, learn, and reach their fullest potential. We will create a home filled with joy, laughter, and a foundation of faith in God. We will encourage your child always to try their best and teach them that challenges and setbacks are opportunities to grow stronger. We promise they will travel and see the world from many perspectives, in hopes of raising a child who loves and sees diversity as normal and welcoming. We will nurture your child’s curiosity—whether it’s for the arts, sports, or whatever passions their heart may discover. Most importantly, we promise to honor the trust you place in us and never take it lightly- you will forever be part of their story and treasured for the gift you have given us. Every day, your child will know how much they are cherished.

As parents, we are committed to raising our children as individuals who love and care for others, helping develop their unique gifts and walking alongside them as they grow in faith, education, sports/arts, family, and friendships. We look forward to doing the same with your child and if you’d like, we would love to share letters and photos to keep you connected.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We would be truly honored to walk this journey with you.

With love, hope, and prayers,

Mike and Corry

Our Story

Our Home

Our home is nestled in a warm, close-knit community where neighbors truly feel like family and support is always nearby. We love the joyful, active atmosphere—playing on the pickleball courts, meeting friends at the pool or playground, or spending peaceful moments at the community dock. Our beautiful, fenced-in backyard is one of our favorite places, and we can’t wait to fill it with laughter and new memories. We’re only 15 minutes from town, so everything is close by, while our neighborhood remains a peaceful, safe haven—an ideal place to grow, play, and feel loved.

Our Family

Our son is 17 and a senior in high school, and our daughter is 14 and a freshman. Both are very active in sports, excel academically, and bring joy and laughter to our days with their quick wit and entertaining stories. With their latest growth spurt, I’ve become the shortest in the family at 5’11”, while Mike, standing tall at 6’4”, still towers over us all.

Our extended family includes Corry’s mom, who lives nearby and still teaches dance and yoga at 70 years old, and Mike’s parents, who live out of state but visit often. We also cherish our daily phone conversations that keep us close despite the distance.

Over the years, we’ve been blessed to build incredible friendships with many who feel like family to us. We’re also very connected to our church community and look forward to warmly welcoming our future baby there as well.
