Chris & Katie
– Missouri –
Every family has a story to tell; welcome to ours.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to give you a glimpse into our family. We hope to bring to you a feeling of peace.
By Katie: I love Chris, simply for who he is. He is real. I have never met anyone so down to earth, and as caring as this man. He loves with everything he has. He believes in mistakes; we are human after all. He is so hardworking; I must beg him to relax. He is my biggest fan, no matter what it is. He is our boys biggest fan. He supports us, always. He smiles, he cries, he laughs, very rarely is he unhappy. He shows real, raw emotions, and isn’t afraid to do so. When not managing our business at the lake, Chris enjoys playing in the tractor around our property and tinkering with whatever projects he can get into, typically in the barn.
What I love most about my wife is her smile and contagious laugh. I love her positive outlook on life and the life she creates for our family. Katie is such a caring person. I love her button nose and the way she accessorizes her outfits. I love her willingnness to try anything, even when she is terrified. I love her old soul and creative personality. She has more patience then I have ever seen in any human. She has a way of always knowing what to say, and what to do, to help someone in need. I love her random dance parties while cooking dinner, and how she keeps me laughing all the time. I love the mother and wife that she is. If she finds some free time, you will find her reading a book or doing a
We live in the suburbs of Kansas City. We are currently fi nishing our forever home just outside of city limits on ten acres, with my parents next door on eleven acres. Together we manage twenty-one acres, and we love everything about where we live. There is nowhere else I would rather raise our family. The neighborhood is wonderful, the school district has been great, and there is so much off ered where we live. Not to mention it’s quiet and safe!
We share our space with our two fur babies; Lucky, the Australian Shephard, and Otis, the Pug mix. These boys have been with us for almost eight years. Lucky typically holds the fort down at home as he has travelling anxiety. Otis is the opposite and enjoys travelling with us when he can.
We are lucky to have a big family that we have so much fun with. Together we have four nieces and three nephews, with the oldest being twenty-three and the youngest being four-month-old twins. We have close and unique relationships with our families. We have a beautifully blended family and are so fortunate for that. In fact, we celebrate together
as one family. Our boys have great fun with their cousins, aunts and uncles, and many grandparents. That is something we will be able to carry on with our new addition. Most of our family is local, with grandparents next door and only a few miles away.
I would say we are a pretty adventurous family. One of our favorite things to do is go camping in our RV. We love to be outdoors. Some of our most memorable trips so far have been, Mexico, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. We have traveled to several states in the US and love exploring state parks.
Another key part of our lives is our lake life. We are business owners at one of Missouri’s beautiful lakes and have a lake home. Our business includes a campground, full serviced marina and a bar and grill. It is a seasonal business, so we are off November 30th-March 1st. This is a great time for us to spend the holidays with our families and travel.
