Over the last 7 years, Cody and I have prayed for you every night and imagined what you might be like. We’ve wondered what city you were raised in, what you would order at Starbucks, where you would drive to when you want to get away, which sports teams you cheer for, which values you would like us to instill in your child, and what will connect us together once we finally meet. As our child’s first mama, you will ALWAYS be loved, cherished, and honored in our home. Your child will know that you love them beyond measure, and they will love you with that same fierce and undeniable love. Although openness is something we will let you take the reins on and respect your wishes at all times, we want you to know that this will never change the outpour of love we will hold for you in our home and in our hearts. The relationship that is right for you and your child will always be a priority to us. From the day we meet you, you will be a member of our family. I will never be able to put myself in your shoes, but I already know they are big shoes I will never be able to entirely fill. Most days, I feel undeserving to be chosen by you. It’s very important to us that you know, you always have a choice, and that choice is something we will always support. I understand that beginning our family this route also begins with extreme heartache and this is a space where joy and sorrow dwell so closely together. The privilege of raising your child will be the greatest privilege of our entire life and something we will never take for granted.
