Jake & Jordan
– Georgia –
We are Jake and Jordan, and we want to thank you for taking the time to get to know us. The selfless and tough decision you’ve made to make an adoption plan shows that you want the best for your child. Hopefully, we are able to show you that we want the same thing and can provide just that.
Adoption has always been our only option to becoming dads. We’ve talked for years about providing a home to a child already coming into the world. Jordan was adopted and we understand the complex emotions that come with that. Our family will always be one we work hard to create and help thrive. We hope you see that potential in us - we can’t wait for the adventure.
More than anyone you could meet, Jake has an open and pure heart. His easygoing nature makes people instantly comfortable when they meet him. Jake isn't one to sit and let things pass him by; he is always ready for an adventure, big or small. He'll tell you he's shy, but his outgoing spirit carries over into every part of his life. He can't stand for things to sit on a "to do" list as he likes things "to done." Instead of sitting with the adults, Jake would rather sit with the kids and play "castle" with an old toy castle, or Legos, or Paw Patrol, or generally be silly with any child. It's something that you can't help but smile about, and the kids in our life think he’s the greatest.
Jordan is quick-witted and charming. He keeps you laughing, except for when he tells his never-ending dad jokes.
He loves to hosting and cooking for others. He is a great cook and makes home cooked meals most nights and even packs Jake’s lunches. Jordan is a generous and charitable person who knows how to make people feel special.
Jordan has seven siblings - the only adoptee. When his older siblings left the nest, Jordan became the big brother and often caretaker of his three younger siblings. He spent several years as a camp counselor - one of his fondest memories. He has an endless supply of camp stories! Jordan learned how to be a role-model at a young age. He learned early how to balance structure with being fun and goofy with kids!
When we were looking for a home, we intentionally stayed in the City of Atlanta because its diversity is important to us. We had seen several homes, but when we walked through the door of this one, it was an instant yes. It just felt like where we were supposed to be.
Our house is in an established neighborhood with wide streets and big yards. We’ve done a few things to make it ours like building a deck in the back yard, adding trees and flowers out front, and building a fire pit for cookouts and s’mores out back.
Both of us have always hoped we would have the house people felt like was their home, too. We’re lucky to have found a true home in the middle of the city that we love.
We don't have a nursery set up yet, because we want to make sure we do it just right and tailor it to our child...but we have had talks about Winnie the Pooh...
