Greg & Nicole
– Tennessee –
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile. Adoption has always been something that we have considered and after our battle with infertility it was as if the universe was giving us a clue that adoption was our journey to walk. Nicole works at the family business and freelances as a classical musician on the weekends and Greg works in the tech feild out of his home office. We enjoy being outdoors and spend most of our weekend in the summer playing water volleyball, jet skiing, and fishing. We love to travel and get the opppotunity to travel often with Nicole's line of work.
Greg is a kind, loving, nerdy guy! He can almost recite every line of Harry Potter and can discuss video games with the best of them. He also enjoys baseball and playing softball on the local rec league. He grew up in the country and enjoys spending time outside fishing, hiking, and camping. His dream has always been to be a stay-at-home father and get to take the children to fun activities during the day. He is incredibly supportive, empathetic, understanding and strong and takes any challenged presented to him in stride.
Nicole is bubbly, smart, fun, and loving! She is a little bit of a nerd, and would perfer to be cuddled up under a blanket with a book. She grew up in a loud Italian family, so she talks with her hands and is a hazard to any glasses on the dinner table. She grew up playing instruments and now freelances as a classical musician on the weekends and teaches middle school and high school music lessons during the week. She loves to do research and learn new information. She loves to hike, attend concerts, play board games, cook, and be on the lake!
We live in a single story three-bedroom, two-bath, open-concept home with a bonus room. We have a massive fenced-in backyard we and our little dog enjoy. Our neighborhood has a nice mixture between older retired couples and younger families that have moved into the neighborhood for the great school district. Our neighbors, Nicole’s parents, have a gated pool, and we are within walking distance of a popular farm that hosts daily child-friendly activities.
Our nursery is right next to Greg's office and across the hall from the master bedroom and only a stone's throw from the living room. We have cleared out the nursery space but have made the decision to not fully set it up yet. But don't worry, we have a plan! We have everything that we need for the first months of life and have friends and family ready to spring into action and get everything set up at a moments notice. We decided to wait partially due to our infertility and personal reasons, but also because we want to personalize the nursery to baby.
Nicole's family is a big, loud, fun, crazy Italian family. Greg's family is quieter, classically southern family. Greg's family lives out of state and we visit roughly 4 times a year to see our niece and nephews and extended family. We are very close with our neice nephews despite the distance and really enjoy being a part of their lives. Nicole's family lives next door and her uncle lives across the street. We spend quite a bit of time during the weekends doing large family activities. We both are the oldest of our families. Nicole has 2 younger sisters and a younger brother, Greg has a younger sister. Both of our families are incredibly supportive of our choice to adopt and cannot wait for us to become parents.
Our extended families are a huge part of our lives. Every Sunday during the summer, we meet at Nicole’s parents’ home to BBQ and play “mildly” competitive games of water volleyball. If we aren’t doing that, then we are at the lake riding jet skis and chilling at the marina’s restaurant.
During the Christmas season, Nicole’s family always throws a huge party for Christmas Eve that everyone in the neighborhood is invited to, and we play games and exchange gifts.
We usually like to go on a yearly family vacation with all of Nicole's family. Travel is a huge part of our lives and something that we really enjoy and would want to share with our/your child!
