About Nicole (by Taylor)- The kids' life and mine would be in disarray without Nicole. She is the glue that holds our family together. She is the perfect blend of loving, fun, teaching and organized mom. She runs the house, does the budget and plans the fun trips. Nicole has the biggest heart of anyone, she is everyone’s best friend. She has a rule to never turn down a cuddle if the kids ask, no matter how busy or what she is in the middle of. Nicole is also the biggest animal lover I know. She has made her health a major priority, and exercises and eats well often. She makes amazing home cooked meals or yummy treats from scratch. She loves getting us all loaded up to go on outdoor adventures to the lake, parks, mountains or bike rides. Nicole also finds so much joy doing newborn photography.

About Taylor (by Nicole) - Something important for me to portray to you is how wonderful of a Dad, Taylor is. He is the most hands-on and involved dad. He is a equal part of our team. His daily goal is to get home to us, his family as soon as he can. I want you to know this, because having a loving and involved dad can make all the difference. Taylor is easy going. He is everyones biggest cheerleader. Taylor is unbelievably patient and fun. My favorite thing in the world is to watch him play with the kids. When he has free time he loves to golf, play basketball or watch football. When our son and daughter shows interest in anything active he dives all in and encourages it. Whether it be Ballet, soccer or golf, Taylor shows up to every practice and cheers them on. I feel so lucky to get to parent with him.

Building Our Family Through Adoption

Our Letter To You

Hi, I’m Nicole and This is Taylor and these are our two biological kiddos.

Out of everything we could tell you, this is what we want you to know first;

We are aching for another family member. Not just a baby but a toddler, child, teenager, and eventually an adult. They will be treasured, they will be included and they will be raised in love and be appreciated.

We are a christian family, that needs to be up there on the list too because it manifests itself in everything we do. Family means everything to us.

The other most important thing I (Nicole) want you to know is Taylor is the most loving involved dad. He is an equal part of our team. It’s important to me that you know this because I know having a loving, involved dad can make all the difference.

Tay and I are still so in love after 10 years. We work hard on cultivating our relationship to continue to blossom and growing in our love. When there is a problem or disagreement, we make sure we work it out almost immediately.

Tayson and SJ will be the best big siblings. They are so eager to have another baby join our family.

Tayson is silly, he is active, brave and careful.

SJ is our light. She is stubborn, independent, and loving.

With us, your baby’s life will be full of love, security and joy.

Our Parenting Style

Nicole minored in child psychology in college, and loves to use her knowledge to come at things from a different way depending on our kids personalities. Keeping in mind, Sometimes kids just need a hug instead of a lecture.

Our son learns and grows differently than our daughter. Nicole has helped me see one size parenting style, doesn’t fit all. We strive to use their own strengths to help them learn and grow into independent people yes, but also kind and respectful people.

I believe we have a great formula of  holding firm boundaries while being loving and gentle. We give opportunities to correct behaviors, as well as praise and validation for when they accomplish or listen.

Our Story

Our Home

We have a beautiful 4 bedroom home in Washington, near the boarder of Idaho.

Our location is surrounded by beautiful landscapes of nature. We constantly are outdoors enjoying the mountains, near lakes and rivers, or just spending the evening in our backyard while the kids play.

Our community is wonderful. There are several events especially around the holidays, as well as more low key consistent things we enjoy like; story time and the local library, farmers markets, beautiful parks and indoor play places.

Our Nursery

The baby will sleep in our room next to Nicole for the first few months and then move into their own room across the hall.

We don’t have anything set up as of now, because that is a very fun project Nicky and I enjoy doing once we know the gender.

Here is a picture of the room currently that will be tweaked once we are matched.

Our Pets

We have a sweetheart black lab named Skye. She is a low energy, very passive, lovebug. The kids crawl on her and give her hugs and kisses all day long and she has great patience and love for them as well.

Our Family

We are a family of 4. Our oldest is an almost 6 year old boy and our youngest is an almost 4 year old girl. To say they are excited for another family member is an understatement. We all talk often and excitedly about the potential of another baby joining our family.

Custom Section

We have thought and prayed for days what the best things to write down would be that would portray our family fairly.

Our life is a beautiful mess, full of laughter and lots of relaxing. We love hard and are quick to apologize.

We would love for you to be as involved in your kiddos life, and ours, as much as you would like. We want what would best for your child and the most healing for you.

We wish you the best in your life journey and are so thankful you took the time to read about us.
